Peter Tillessen was born in the Black Forest.
He first studied agronomics at Christian Albrecht University in Kiel (Germany) and later photography at FAMU, Prague (Czech Republic) and ZHDK, Zurich (Switzerland). After more than a decade of commercial photography he returned to his artistic endeavours in 2012.

He lives and works in Zurich and Ticino / Switzerland
